Toni is a special kind of woman! For as much as she is powerful, she is soft and gentle. For as much as she is vulnerable, she is fierce. I attended a sisterhood circle in June to support a friend, expecting just to listen and leave the same way I arrived- with that unknowable hurt still heavy on my shoulders.

The sisterhood circle didn’t cure my pain, but giving in and really participating as best as I could was such a huge emotional relief. The unfussy support of other women who share in their own struggles and triumphs helped me to release some of the heartache that had been weighing me down. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still struggling. But the circle helped to give me some room to breathe and just BE and embrace who I am. If it sounds woo-woo, maybe it is a little bit. But it was a wonderful experience!
